Post CTG MISSION REPORTS '10: St. Baldrick's, Sat., March 6th
On Saturday March 6th 2010 at Arena at Harbor Yard, hundreds of children and their parents shaved their heads in solidarity with children fighting cancer at TeamBrent's St. Baldrick’s celebration. Participants in a St. Baldrick’s event shave their heads in exchange for donations towards research. It’s a simple concept, a fun time and an effective fundraiser - since its founding in 2000, the St. Baldrick's Foundation has raised over $69 million by shaving over 107,000 heads in 24 countries. St. Baldrick's funds more childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. Government.

The CTG was proud to be such a big part of the day!

Post CTG MISSION REPORTS '10: New Haven St. Patty's Parade, 3/14
On Sunday, March 14, @ 2:00, the award winning CTG marched once again in the New Haven St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the 6th oldest parade in the country (since 1842). It was a cold & rainy day this year, and it seemed the parade was on the verge of cnacellation- but a small group of dedicated troops braved the elements much to the delight of the children in attendance- some of whom even dress up as their favorite SW characters as well! This event remians a personal favorite of the Garrison, and is considered our signature parade event.

NEWS FLASH!!! Just in from the parade committee... we have secured an award this year for "Best Original Entry"!

The best part, $200 will be donated to The Tommy Fund for Child Cancer in our name by the parade committee.

Post CTG MISSION REPORTS '10: Wilton Public Library SW Day, 3/27
On March 27th, 2010, the Wilton Public Library was taken over by The 501st CTG for the second time! This event featured many of the Star Wars books, activities, and members of The 501st Legion CTG. It promotes literacy, and the library director Lesley had everything organized and running smoothly.

This was a nice quick, well-oiled event with lots of happy kids in attendance!
