The 501st CTG had the honor of inducting one of Connecticut‘s own sons, John Ratzenberger as an "Honorary Member of the 501st Legion" on Sunday July 1, 2007. The Barnum Street Parade has become a favorite for many members of the Garrison. The CTG met up with Mr. Ratzenberger before the start of the parade and spent a few minutes talking with him. He told us he remembered watching the Barnum Street Parade as a kid growing up in Bridgeport himself. How fitting that he was chosen to be the 2007 Honorary Marshal. The Garrison presented Major Bren Derlin with the Honorary Member plaque, a CTG T-shirt and some other CTG swag. What a great way to start a really fun parade!
